We are currently doing some hardcore, down to our knees, praying.
A lot has been going on here in Atlanta and we are seeing lots of changes.
Thank you for not forgetting about us. We will spend the rest of 2009
in prayer as we gear up and start pulling things together.
Please, feel free to leave your prayer requests in a comment here,
so that we can put those needs before the Lord as we continue to seek His perfect Will!
See you soon!

So much has been going on this summer. I expected no break in routine, really. I was wrong.
I’m sure the same has been true for you. Summer brings new adventures and more time for other things.
It’s been heavy on our prayers that we all stay strong in our witness and testimony of the Cross, no matter what the summer brings.
Which is why we wanted to give everyone of you a chance to fellowship here with each other and have a great opportunity to share any prayer requests you may have.
No matter what they are, we are a family in Christ and we are called to serve each other in love and prayer. We pray that you will feel free to share what’s on your heart as we get ready to wrap up another great, but hot, summer.
We don’t usually get too much feedback on the site, so I’m hoping that we can blow it up with this and let’s get some good conversation going. Please feel free to pass our link on through Facebook or Twitter or wherever, and let’s pull together!
Excited to hear from you all!

John 19:28 tells us that, even after God’s perfect plan was laid out and finished, there was still something else left,… knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I thirst.”
Under the conditions of that day, our Saviour was probably quite thirsty. When I think about those words, though, I realize the double meaning. He needed water. He also needed His Father. Just like we need Him.
I think it’s a beautiful connection.
But, don’t we thirst, too? As I write this, I want to cry out loud to Jesus as I think about how far apart we are right now. You know that clogging feeling in your heart when you feel that something isn’t right inside. I have that right now. I bet you have it, too.
I just want us to spend the next few days focusing on Jesus’ final words on the Cross. Check them out. Meditate hard on them. Quench your thirst.
Luke 23:34
Luke 23:42-43
John 19:27
John 19:28
John 19:30
Matthew 27:46
Luke 23:45-46
Let us know what the Lord speaks into you throughout the rest of this week. It’s our prayer that you and God meet in the quiet and your thirst is quenched.

Obedience.
6 Evildoers are snared by their own sin,
but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.
Proverbs 29
I’ve experienced first hand the alluring sensation of something I know is wrong. I have lost myself thinking that God will forgive me, no matter what I do,… Whatever your experience, be it a sudden end to a relationship and you just felt lonely,…
Maybe you put in those extra hours at work and had a little more money than you’re used to,…
Lust, greed, gossip, self-control,… whatever you may be struggling with is at the epicenter of what direction your heart and, ultimately, your life is headed. This week, we should be focusing on realigning our direction toward the path God set out for us from the beginning. Hannah and I are praying for all of us this week, trusting that Christ will lead us that way, with expectant hearts.
grace and peace.

Tonight, it’s not about me. It’s not about you.
It’s all about a resurgence of burning desires.
5-6 God’s love is meteoric,
his loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
slips through the cracks.
10-12 Keep on loving your friends;
do your work in welcoming hearts.
Don’t let the bullies kick me around,
the moral midgets slap me down.
Send the upstarts sprawling
flat on their faces in the mud.
a psalm of David. (ch. 36)
Let’s spend this week seeking a newfound urgency.

Most of you know I’m a HUGE Dave Matthews Band fan and God bless them for their efforts in raising awareness about poverty across the world, but a new song of theirs sums this up perfectly, and it’s simply titled, “Funny How It Is.”
But, the funny thing is that it’s not funny at all!
I want to keep the posts in this series short, and strongly encourage you to leave your feedback with us. This kind of thing is so tricky because you can’t stop the rich from getting richer, but you can help keep the poor from getting poorer.
I want to just start by asking, what do you feel needs to be done the most of, by us, in order to help change the way news headlines, such as the one shown above, are printed? Seems like a silly question, but I want to get our brain gears rolling on this.
Please leave comments and lets get a discussion going, some ideas churning!

Since we last met, I’ve tried to get into Jesus’ head. He and I have been back and forth over the issue of forgetting.
All I got out of it was one thing: I have forgiven myself, accepted HIS forgiveness, but cannot find the strength to let it go!
I asked a good and very trusted friend of mine to share a few words about this, to give us a better scope on such a hard to manage issue. Needless to say, the Holy Spirit blew me away with what he sent me.
So, Micah, I hope you don’t mind, but you said it better than I ever could, and I’m very excited and so blessed to share your thoughts with our readers!

“I believe we hold on to our past and our mistakes for many different reasons. Some of us like to boast about it. Paul did it, right? Some of us take no pride in our past at all, we simply use it as part of our miraculous story.
I think we analyze our lives constantly. Trying to make sense of the path we’ve gone down and how we could end up in a such a grace-place when we are the reason for the horrific act of Jesus’ crucifixion.
But what we fail to remember is that we are also the reason for the Resurrection. Jesus didn’t just die for us, but he rose from the dead for us – replacing any worthlessness with a place of complete grace.
And that makes me feel worthless. How could anyone love me when I am a murderer?
Maybe we focus on the bad more than we focus on the good. We are crooked and sinful, but we’re also forgiven and worth the death AND resurrection of Jesus Christ. So next time you have a moment when you can’t shake those old memories off – remember that Christ was raised from the dead and you simply “don’t have time to maintain these regrets.”
Let it go.
Thanks again, Micah, for your amazing words!

“We are His portion
And He is our prize
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes
If grace is an ocean we’re all sinking
So heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets
When I think about the way
He love us
Oh How He Loves Us
Oh How He Loves Us So
Oh How He loves So”
“How He Loves” by John Mark McMillan.
Blessings!
Michael
